Galton Bridge

Galton Bridge

Serfis Construction and Engineering were appointed contractor install the required kassle kerbing for the bus stop and renew the footpath following the structural work completed by Network Rail on the adjacent bridge structure.

Client: Network Rail
Job: Footpath, tarmac installation and road lining.
Our Involvement

Serfis Construction and engineering were involved in the vacuum excavation behind the structure to allow the Network Rail team to carry out the repairs to the bridge adjacent which was required due to the number of live services below the footpath level. We returned to site suppling and installing the kerbing requirements to support the footpath and section of carriage way renewal followed by tarmac installation and road lining.

Problems Faced / Solutions Offered

Logistically with a single road closure for the section of the dual carriageway in place and a requirement to still allow site traffic to pass we had limited storage which made material deliveries and plant requirements extremely difficult. Our onsite management played a key role in insuring there were no delays to the project while still having the requirements to complete the works when needed. Timed deliveries, progress meetings and constant coordination with the client’s delivery team were critical to getting the work done and within the allocated time frame.

Summary

A great display of working in limited space delivering on time, to budget and a high standard.
